Minister of Agriculture Abdel Moneim el Banna asserted that the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has an important role in achieving agricultural development around the world especially in relation to combating hunger and poverty in the rural areas in the developing countries.
Banna’s remarks came on Monday before leaving for Italy to attend the 41st round of the IFAD Governing Council due in Rome until February 15.
Banna said that there is a fruitful and serious cooperation between Egypt and IFAD to implement comprehensive developmental projects.
During his visit to Italy, Banna will meet with his counterparts from different countries to discuss means to boost cooperation with Egypt in the agricultural field. This is part of exchanging expertise to achieve agricultural development, according to him.
