CAIRO – A Yemeni political analyst denounced Thursday Western opposition to ongoing efforts for the liberation of the Yemeni port city of al-Hudaydah from the control of terrorist groups.
Western officials say ongoing efforts for the liberation of the city will cause harm to the Yemeni people, even as the city is controlled by terrorist militias, political analyst Abdel Karim al-Mada said.
The terrorist militias controlling the city give its residents a hard time, al-Mada told the Egyptian private news channel, Extra News.
The international community, he added, needs to understand that the Houthis are nothing but a bunch of terrorists.
Al-Mada noted that Yemenis reel as port workers fail to handle the contents of the ships arriving in Yemeni ports.
The Houthi militias, he added, prevent the port workers from handling the contents of the ships, even without saying why.
He said the Yemeni army tries to change this situation now with support from the Arab coalition.
Al-Mada clarified that the Yemeni army had moved after Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi gave the go-ahead for military action for the liberation of al-Hudaydah.
