Ukraine witnesses continuous activity by Russian troops, with Russia intensifying its attacks in the northern and southern parts of the country.
Russian troops had last attacked West Special Operations Centre in western Ukraine.
The recent Russian military activity came after US President Joe Biden announced that the US leaves to Ukraine the decision of how to end the conflict with Russia.
When asked about the prospects for the return of Crimea to the Ukrainian side, Biden admitted that it would not be possible to return it immediately.
“I can imagine the circumstances under which this will be preceded by a transition period, and not immediately,” the US president added.
The Kremlin considered that the US to be inciting to inflame the situation and increase tensions between the Russian and Ukrainian sides.
It said these statements serve as a green light for Ukraine to launch attacks on Crimea.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing that he cannot imagine the conditions under which the return of Crimea is possible.
He added that Crimea is an integral part of Russia.
Peskov noted that the Kremlin does not envisage any conditions under which Crimea could be returned to Ukraine.
The American statements about the peninsula, he said, highlight the depth of the disagreement between the two countries.
It is noteworthy that Russia took control of Crimea in 2014 and annexed it, in a step not recognized by the international community, while Kiev, which has been fighting a fierce war with the Russians since last year, confirmed that it seeks to regain the peninsula.
How Ukraine withstood
As the conflict continues on the ground between two parties, one of which is among the largest countries in the world, and the other is a country whose rating touches the bottom in the ranking of the most powerful armies in the world, a question arises as to how the Ukrainians can withstand the Russians in those battles.
Kiev has even achieved significant victories in numerous confrontations with the bear.
In the same context, many military experts hinted in research papers published in Trends that Ukraine would not have been able to withstand Russian operations without the military support that poured into it from Western allied countries, headed by the US, as this generous military assistance allowed Kiev to counter the Russian army, which is tirelessly trying to make progress on the ground.
Although Russia launched its military operations on February 24, 2022 on a large scale in Ukraine, and initially tried to overthrow Kiev, it later retreated to a smaller scale, focusing its efforts on Eastern and southern Ukraine.
The modification of the Russian plan was seen as a realization of the difficulty of controlling the entire Ukraine, or the overthrow of the political leadership in the country.
According to CNN, three strategic tools have played a very decisive role in enabling Ukraine to turn the course of confrontation with Russia so far, it said.
The first of these tools is the Javelin projectile which is launched by means of a platform or shoulder.
It weighs about 7 kilograms and has a range of about 2,500 meters. The projectile is distinguished from others by the fact that it falls on the target from above and not from the side. This gives it the advantage of bypassing obstacles and the ability to hit tanks in their weakest areas.
The second of tool is the M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, which is distinguished by its superiority over the American Howitzer missiles that Washington has sent to Ukraine before.
The third tool that contributed significantly to resolving matters for the Ukrainian side in many hotspots is the Turkish unmanned combat aerial vehicle Bayraktar which have become among the most famous drones in the world, after being widely used in Ukraine.
Kazim Yawar, a researcher on strategic policies in the Middle East, liked to return to the origin of the war and the declared Russian goals.
There, he said, interim goals or alternative goals carried out by Russia.
Yawar added in statements to The Reference that Russia’s main goal of the war in Ukraine is to dismantle the military capabilities or, if you will, the military infrastructure of Ukraine so that its territory will not be suitable for further empowerment and the deployment of NATO in the future.
