The United Arab Emirates has demonstrated exceptional abilities in dealing with Covid-19 since the emergence of the disease.
The hard work done by the UAE, both internally and externally, has turned into a model for other states and a good example of giving to others.
The UAE backed the health sector in a number of other countries with the aim of compensating shortages in medical supplies and equipment. It built new health facilities and maintained some of the hospitals in these countries.
Abu Dhabi was keen on making its presence felt in the international prevention field by providing countries in need with whatever equipment and supplies required for their response to the new disease.
This brought it praise from all international organizations, including the United Nations and its affiliate bodies.
The UAE sends aid to a new country with every passing day. So far, over 674 tons of medical supplies went out of the UAE and into more than 58 other countries. These supplies benefited hundreds of thousands of health service workers in these countries.
A report by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has thrown light on UAE support to other countries.
The report details the aid the UAE sent to these countries as well as the work done by UAE embassies and consulates in this regard.
The report also throws light on the contribution presented by the UAE in helping the nationals of other Arab countries return to their countries from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the Covid-19 outbreak.
UAE medical aid to other countries included much-needed equipment including gloves, facemasks, ventilators and examination tools.
A large number of international organizations praised UAE leaders for sending by other countries at this testing time.
Executive Director of the World Food Program, David Beasley, praised UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for offering support to his organization.
He said Sheikh Mohamed agreed to help the World Food Program when he called him to ask him to offer help.
